Wembley’s first football final

An FA Cup Final record crowd of 126,047 attended the first final at Wembley Stadium. Officials delayed the start to the Bolton – West Ham match by 40 minutes as the crowd invaded the ground. It was estimated that a realistic attendance figure would have been 150,000 – 200,000. Bolton won the match 2-0.
