The Football Federation of Australia commissioned an upbeat advert as part of their bid for the 2018 World Cup to be held here in Australia. It certainly demonstrates the flair and festivity of football. Do you think Australia can host the World Game? Post your comment.
Over the next three weeks starting as of tonight, Not the Footy Show will be bringing you an Olympic Feature on the seven sports vying for inclusion in the 2012 Games. Tune in tonight to catch the first part of this feature and vote for the sport you think should be included.
Confederations Cup 2009Ashley Morrison is in Johannesburg for the Confederations Cup. We will cross to him in the first hour to see how things are shaping up in South Africa.
Cricket
Can you remember where you were on this day in 1999 when South Africa played Australia in that famous Cricket World Cup semi final? Damian Fleming can, as he bowled the last over to Lance Klusener. He joins us tonight.
Diving
WAIS only recently introduced diving to its programmes. Tonight we catch up with coach Jack Taylor to hear how the programme is bedding down.
Netball
The West Coast Fever played against the Thunderbirds on Sunday and lost 58-39. We speak to Andrea Gilmore about how they hope to get their bounce back for their next match against the Swifts.
Olympic Feature
Seven sports have nominated for Olympic inclusion, and over the next three weeks we will be giving each sport the chance to tell you the listener why their sport should be included.
Rugby Sevens
First up we talk to former Nedlands player and now Captain of the World Champion Wallaroos, Cheryl Soon. She is part of the Rugby 7’s bid team presenting to the IOC in Lausanne.
Karate
Taekwondo and Judo are there, but Karate is not. Former national coach and Vice Preseident of the Australian Karate Federation of WA, Branco Bratich will state the case for Karate.
